the other day:

it was such a blast.

before the show I had a wonderful experience. it went like this.

[joe is sitting on the steps in front of sanders theater, waiting for
bill w. to show up. nerds are flocking to the theater in droves for
the ig nobels. next to joe, a man sits and smokes nervously]

man [to joe]: excuse me, are you with the mensa delegation?
joe: no.
man: can you tell me--is this the south side of the building?
joe: yes, it is.
[joe thinks for a minute]
joe [pointing to his right]: the sun is setting to our right. maybe i
should be with the mensa delegation after all.
[man doesn't find this very amusing]
