[PRL] The choice uncertainty principle

Ran across this in the current CACM:

Some interesting bits, especially at the beginning, bringing into  
question the whole notion of assuming that the hardware underlying  
our software abstractions actually works.

Reminds me of the examples that Will likes bringing up when  
discussing software design.
