[Linux-users] things in /usr/local on the linux image.

i think we were using /usr/local/src, although i'm not sure.  you want to
be using /usr/local/stow/softwarepackage-1.03b as your *installation*
prefix. 

Also, no reason to reimage the lab machines, just clean up the model
machine.  The extra links aren't breaking anything, we just don't want to
have them stay there indefinitely.
