Here is input from Professor Desnoyers.

Piazza also has an anonymous feature which we have to manage with care,
according to Ahmed.

Overall it looks good to me. Any objections.

I've found that it works quite well. It's real-time enough that it can
replace a chat room, and it has a lot more navigation options (tagging,
searching, etc.) than blackboard discussion boards.

Plus there won't be any hassles using it for two classes - just feed it a
list of the emails to send invites to, and you're set.

The comparison between Blackboard and Piazza reminds me of some of the
software engineering tools I've used in industry - you can usually tell
which products are sold to management, and then forced on engineers, vs.
products that are sold to the engineers themselves.

Hi Peter:

we have the cooperation of two classes (CS5500 and CS4800) to enhance the
learning experience of both. The graduate students provide gaming software
that teaches and evaluates the avatars of the undergraduates.

I plan to use piazza.com to have both classes post to the same forum on
topics that are game-related. Do you think this is a good idea?

Hi Karl-

I think that Blackboard could be a good solution to explore. I'd recommend
calling xHELP and talking to them about your requirements.

If they can't be of assistance, come back to me and we'll try to find
another way to proceed.

P.S. Another possibility: Peter Desnoyers seems to be having good success
with http://piazza.com/. They also might be worthwhile to explore.
