[scponly] changing passwords remotely over scponly .. what am I doing wrong ?

I did not install scponly from the ports tree, I installed it from a
source tarball - and the configure line I used was:

./configure --enable-winscp-compat --enable-unison-compat
--enable-scp-compat --enable-rsync-compat --enable-chrooted-binary
--enable-gftp-compat --enable-passwd-compat

So I did not specify --prefix ... where does it default to ?  And when I
do get it correctly set to "1", where does the additional logging end up -
in auth.log ?
