[scponly] No prompt on login

Hi.

I've installed scponly using apt on Debian and then created a user with:
useradd -d /home/username1 -s /usr/sbin/scponlyc -g users -m username1

And then I gave it a password
When I tried to login it logins in fine and displays the last login
details etc but then just sits there without issuing a prompt.

I then tried:
usermod -s /usr/bin/scponly username1

But I got the same effect.

Any ideas?
