Title: Security Considerations for Decision-Making in Healthcare
Abstract:
Situation awareness is an important part of decision-making in general, and it is especially important and challenging in health care which now have technologies that generate enormous amounts of real-time data for each patient. There are many benefits to the use of such technologies such as improved patient outcomes as well as improved efficiency.
However, there are also serious security and privacy issues that need to be analyzed to ensure trustworthiness of information and compliance to privacy regulations. In this thesis, I address the privacy and security considerations of these systems. I describe strategies to protect privacy as well as technical controls to ensure security.
