  Ph.D. Thesis Defense: New Cloud Architectures For The Next Generation Internet
 
  Abstract:
  Cloud computing has ushered in a new paradigm with the delivery of
  computing as a service, letting customers share the same physical 
  infrastructure and rent computing resources on demand. 
  This multi-tenancy approach offers clients flexibility whilst creating
  its own unique set of challenges in areas such as reliability and security.
  In this thesis we study security and scalability issues of cloud infrastructures and
  propose new architectures to enable improved and robust internet services.
