Title:
Ph.D. Thesis Proposal: New Cloud Architectures For The Next Generation Internet
Abstract:
The rise of cloud computing has been one of the dominant technological themes in the computing world over the past few years. Cloud computing has ushered in a new paradigm with the delivery of computing as a service, as a utility over a network. Cloud computing services, such as Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure, let customers rent virtual machines (VMs) on demand. This allows customers to focus on their specific business while letting the cloud provider deal with the issues of reliability, maintenance, performance, security and scalability.
The rise of cloud computing has created its own unique set of challenges and opportunities. In this thesis we study security issues of cloud infrastructures and propose new cloud architectures to improve and robust internet services.
