I installed 4.8 and it does exhibit the problems described. However, our
current CVS version works fine for me, although Frank reported that it didn't
work for him -- Frank, can you double check?

Case22, can you try the CVS version and let me know if it works for you?

In looking at the current changelog in CVS, there's currently only one
comment:

"Fix for rsync-3.0 which now uses a short -e option, with an optional argument
as a server side option indicating protocol compatibility."

I need to make one other minor change (to the configure script) to better
support wildcard expansion, but with rsync-3.X becoming prevalent, it's
probably time that we make another release.

So, if you have the ability to test rsync-3.X with scponly, please do and let
us know how it goes.

Thanks.
