[PRL] PL seminar: organizational meeting

Dear PL students and faculty, 

Welcome back! :)

We'll kick off the PL seminar this year with a short organizational meeting on Wednesday, Sept 4th at 11:30am in 166 WVH.  (NOTE: the unusual time and place are for this week only because there's a PhD luncheon from 12pm-1:30pm.  We have 166 reserved till 12:30 but we'll aim to wrap up by noon.) 

The main goal of this first meeting is to fill up the calendar for the fall semester.  If you are a PhD student in your second year or beyond, we'd like you to give a talk about your research at some point this academic year.  In the next few days, you should think about -- and consult with your advisor on -- when would be a good time for you to schedule your talk. 

At Wednesday's meeting, we'll sign students up for a PL seminar this semester, perhaps saving a couple of slots for visiting speakers.  If you are not there, your advisor or others reserve the right to sign you up!  

If any of you might bring in visiting speakers this semester or have someone in mind you'd like to invite, send an email to me and Vincent or let us know at the meeting next week.  

Starting Sept. 11th, PL seminar will be at it's usual time, Wednesdays 11:45am-1:30pm, in 366 WVH.
