[CCing prl, FYI -- I've seen that many people have their own plt
installation...]

I recently revived an old script that always uses the recently
distributed PLT version, and can also be used to run older
distributions. The whole thing is at

  /proj/scheme/bin/mzscheme
  /proj/scheme/bin/drscheme
  /proj/scheme/bin/mred
  /proj/scheme/bin/...

each one of these will simply run the most recent distributed version,
and it also accepts a version flag, for example:

  /proj/scheme/bin/help-desk -209 <-- read old docs
  /proj/scheme/bin/drscheme -103 <-- nostalgia

Version 53 is installed too, but the binaries don't work.
