  Rather than suggesting that the guys at Reddit were dopes, or that
  they didn't try hard enough, or that they should have done such and
  such a workaround, blah, blah, I wish Lispers would step up and
  internalize that the Reddit experience was a great case study and
  that the community should work to solve the issues it raised.

Someone in the comments mentions Scheme, but otherwise it seems like
most of the parties involved have a big blind spot.
