*Software design in the real world *
Mark Hamburg, Adobe
Mark will discuss the tradeoffs that impact the design and development of
products like Lightroom and Photoshop and examine some specific design
choices made during the development of Lightroom.
Mark Hamburg, Adobe Fellow, led the Adobe Photoshop development team at
Adobe for eleven years before moving on to instigate the project that
resulted in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. After a brief sojourn as a
Distinguished Engineer at Microsoft, Mark is back at Adobe looking at their
long-term digital imaging strategy. Mark holds a masters in mathematics from
the University of Michigan and was a veteran of Ann Arbor Softworks and
Ashton*Tate before joining Adobe. (In his ancient past, he was a COBOL
programmer at Dow Chemical.)
