Now that the submission deadline for Spring NEPLS is past, I'd like
to invite
you all to submit talk abstracts to the upcoming IBM PL Day.

The eighth annual Programming Languages Day will be held at the IBM
Thomas J. Watson Research Center on Monday, May 7, 2007. The day
will be held in cooperation with the New Jersey and New England
Programming Languages and Systems Seminars. The main goal of the event
is to increase awareness of each other's work, and to encourage
interaction and collaboration.

The Programming Languages Day will feature a keynote presentation and
approximately 6 regular presentations. The keynote presentation will
be made by Martin Odersky, Professor at the School of Computer and
Communication Science, EPFL, and leader of the Scala group.

If you would like to present your work, please send a title and
abstract to vijay @ saraswat.org by April 15, 2007 (Tax Day).
Tutorials or joint
presentations are welcome. We also solicit input on topics or
particular presentations that would be of interest to attendees.

Abstracts will be selected by a committee consisting of Steve
Zdancewic, University of Pennsylvania; Jan-Willem Maessen, Sun
Microsystems; and Vijay Saraswat, IBM Research. Notification of accepted
abstracts will be sent approximately by April 21, 2007.

You are welcome from 9AM onwards, and the keynote presentation will
start at 10AM sharp. The Programming Languages day will be held in
room GN-F15 in the Hawthorne-1 building in Hawthorne, New York.

If you plan to attend the Programming Languages Day, please register
by sending an e-mail with your name, affiliation, and contact
information to vijay @ saraswat.org so that we can plan for lunch and
refreshments to be available.

Program committee:

Steve Zdancewic, University of Pennsylvania
Jan-Willem Maessen, Sun Microsystems
Vijay Saraswat, IBM T.J. Watson Research Center
