Stephen Chang - The History of Macros: A Guided Tour

Want to learn about macros? Maybe you've heard some PL guys going on
and on about them and you've wondered what all the fuss is about. Or
maybe you've read some essays by Paul Graham and you're curious why he
attributes much of his success to the macro. If so, then this talk is
for you. In fact, if you do any programming at all, then this talk is
also for you.

In this tutorial talk, I'll be going over some of the key papers, past
and present, behind the macro systems in languages like Lisp, Scheme,
and Racket. This talk will be a mix of historical discussion and an
exploration- by-example of present day macro tools.
