I'm not a big emacs user, but I've always preferred xemacs over emacs.  
Some time ago, the [default] X interface seemed [to me] a bit more
polished for xemacs than emacs.  I think the latest incarnation of emacs
looks much better than it used to, but I still believe xemacs looks and
feels better.  

In fact, @ ccs, the default emacs screen is a very ugly and antiquated 
black and white, while xemacs sports a more common grey relief look, w/ 
color icons, and other handy eye candy.

The sun boxes have both installed, and I figured that was one of the 
desierable features to copy up from the Sun's to the linux project.
