IIRC, xtitle sets the title in an xterm window.

On my box,

PROMPT_COMMAND='echo -ne "\033]0;$SOME_STRING\007"'

Works just fine (It sends the escape sequence xterm can trap)

| Every time I cd into a directory I get an error:
| xtitle: Command not found.
|
| The command works fine, but this should probably be fixed if these boxes
| are ever to be used by the general ccs public.
|
| I'd be proud to be American, if America would stop giving me
| reasons to be ashamed.
