Hmm... I see a 'defmacro' for R5RS mode here:

     lib/Standard/defmacro.sch

Any suggestions on making that into an sls for ERR5RS mode?

This is the sort of thing I was talking about in my last note. I go with 
  R5RS mode, I get stuff like defmacro but lose out on the newer libs. 
Vice versa for ERR5RS mode.
